The Peruvian Weather is dramatically defined by the Andean chain, the marine currents and its location on the globe, all of which makes the summer and winter seasons not so strong. It is the reason why it is better to analize the three different geographical areas: The coast, the Highlands and the Jungle, due to the fact that in each area we can find different weather conditions.\
The Seasons in Peru are (South Hemisphere):
- Summer (22 December - 21 March)
- Fall (2 June - 22 June)
- Winter (22 June - 22 September)
- Spring (23 September - 21 Diciembre)
The weather areas correspond to the thre geographical of Peru.
- The Coast
There are two different seasons: the
Existen dos estaciones muy marcadas: summer (December till March) with temperatures that reach the 27ºC (80ºF); and winter (May till October), a very wet and cold season with temperatures that reach 12ºC (53ºF). Even though in the peruvian coast it rains, during the winter it is very common to see the fog and the small rains. The north area of the coast has sunny days throughout the year and during summer the temperatures reach 35ºC (95ºF).
- The Higlands
Of dry and warm weather, with two weather seasons well defined: one of warmth (May till October) with sunny days and very cold nights, few rains --ideal season to visit-- and the other one is the rainy season (December to May), with abundant rains.
In these area the temperature variations are very common --between 20ºC (68ºF) y 2ºC (35ºF)-- in one single day.
- The Jungle
Of humid and tropical weather: it counts with two seaasons: one of warmth (May to October) with sunny days and high temperatures reaching 30ºC (86ºF) and another one is the rainy season (November to March) with a lot of rain and the increment of the level of rivers.
Official Time
The official time in Peru is located five hourse after the GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) and it is similar to the EST (Eastern Standard Time) from the United States. Peru does not change the official time during the year, thus there is not summer or winter time, instead the time is maintain equal during all the year. Also it does not vary inside of the country.

Laboral Time
In Peru, the stores are usually open from 10:00 or 11:00 in the morning until the 10:00 or 11:00 at night. In the more commercial areas stores can be opened until noon.
In case of Public Administration the atention during winter (May - August) is from 09:00am till 05:00pm and during summer (September - March) is from 08:00am till 03:00pm.
The bank attention is from 09:00am to 5:00 or 6:00pm during weekdays. And from 9:00am till midday on Saturdays.
