National Parks
From Wiki Sumaq Peru
The Protected Natural Areas law referring to the National Parks states: "The National Parks are indirect use areas, which means that these areas allow the not manipulative scientific research, the recreation and tourism in appropriately designated areas, where the natural resource extraction, modifications or transformations of the natural environment are prohibited".
The National Parks in the Peruvian territory are:
- Cutervo (Cajamarca, 1961)
- Tingo Maria (Huanuco, 1965)
- Manu (Madre de Dios - Cuzco, 1973)
- Huascaran (Ancash, 1975)
- Cerros de Amotape (Tumbes, 1975)
- Rio Abiseo (San Martin, 1983)
- Yanachaga Chemillen (Pasco, 1983)
- Bahuaja Sonene (Madre de Dios y Puno, 1996)
- Cordillera Azul (Loreto, San Martin, Ucayali y Huanuco, 2001)
- Otishi (Junin y Cuzco, 2003)
- Alto Purus (Ucayali y Madre de Dios, 2004)
